Counselling has provided me a lot of peace and stability in my life, and I think we all can benefit from talking about our difficult feelings.– Leeds Counselling

I know that the first steps to starting counselling can be difficult, however it is essential to find the right support and guidance when you need it the most. As human beings we all at some point in our lives need some additional support to deal with our mental health or personal issues that affect our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

I work on the concept that every client is an individual and therefore need a bespoke treatment plan. As a client centered therapist I will co-ordinate your therapeutic plan to meet your individual needs and together we will monitor your progress.

Why should I explore counselling?

People explore therapy for many reasons, sometimes it is because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives. This could be for a variety of reasons, they may feel isolated even if they have family and friends around them. It can be challenging to open up to people who are close to you and it is often easier to talk to an independent person. Therapy is not just for people in crisis it is for anyone who has underlying feelings of dissatisfaction of life.

Counselling is a process in which we seek to resolve the problems in our lives. It is a safe place for us to explore our thoughts and feelings. We all strive to be self-aware, content, have peace of mind, and to think and feel emotions with clarity and understanding. Talking therapies help people to come to terms and overcome their problems. It enables people to discuss their painful feelings and issues confidentially in a comfortable environment.

About me

I became a counsellor following 20 years experience supporting families within the inner city Leeds area. I started my counselling journey 6 years ago after seeing the positive impact talking therapies had on the families I was supporting. Initially I studied person centered therapy to diploma level and then went on to complete a degree in counselling solutions, learning how to integrate different theories to maximise the impact of my work with clients. More recently I have trained with Cruse and support bereaved callers on their helpline. I am also available on the Better Help platform.

I started my own counselling practice after gaining experience working in the local community at various organisations within women’s health, cluster support and the education sector . I currently work face to face, online or on the telephone. I would really like to hear from you and support you in your journey to a better life.
